About Us

Multidisciplinary Approach

Totus Institute serves as a bridge between academic research and practical policy implementation. Our multidisciplinary approach examines how business practices, economic policies, technology, and social structures interact to shape outcomes for individuals, communities, and nations.

We believe that effective solutions emerge from comprehensive analysis that considers the full spectrum of stakeholder interests and long-term societal impact. Our work spans research, engineering, assurance, and engagement: we study the questions technology raises, build and test practical tools, assess safety, reliability and fitness for purpose, and involve institutions, practitioners, and the public in the conversation.

READ

Research · Engineering · Assurance · Deployment

Understanding AI, evaluating its risks and developing practical approaches to responsible deployment, alongside the wider social questions that shape how technology lands in business, political economy and society.

Four connected dimensions of one approach, not four separate services. Research informs engineering, engineering makes assurance testable, and what deployment reveals returns as new research.

CARE

Community · Advocacy · Reassurance · Engagement

Connecting people, institutions and communities to navigate the opportunities and challenges of AI, and the wider social change that comes with it.

Four connected dimensions of one approach: community builds the relationships that advocacy and reassurance depend on, and engagement carries all three outward.

Live Tracker

The Polycrisis Tracker

Armed conflicts, famine and food insecurity, natural disasters, epidemics, cyber incidents and economic shocks rarely arrive one at a time. Our tracker keeps a running, sourced record of the crises shaping the world at once, plotted on a live globe so you can see where they overlap.

Every entry records where it is happening, how severe it is, what has changed since it was opened, and the sources it rests on.
